On the occasion of World Engineers Day on the 4th of March, 2024, a programme in hybrid mode was conducted from Women's Polytechnic, Aizawl. The theme for 2024 is "Engineering Solutions for a Sustainable World". The programme was hosted by Dr.Sukanta Roy, MIE, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering, NIT Mizoram and Executive member of IE(I) Mizoram State. 

Prof.Saibal Chatterjee, FIE, Proferssor, NIT Mizoram and Chairman, IE(I) Mizoram State Centre gave the welcome address and Dr.H.Lalchhuanvela, FIE, Principal for Women's Polytechnic, Aizawl gave a short speech.

The Chief Guest for the programme was Prof.Chithirai Pon Selvan, MIMechE, MIEAust, Director of Research and Head of School Science and Engineering, Curtin University Dubai. He also gave an Expert Talk on the theme of the programme which was very informative, interesting and eye opener on the role of engineering in sustainable development.

Vote of thanks was given by Dr.Ramesh Kumar, MIE, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering, NIT Mizoram and Executive member of IE(I) Mizoram State Centre.
