Twenty students from Garment technology and Beauty Culture and Cosmetology Departments of Women's Polytechnic, Aizawl participated in the India Skill State Level Competition organised by Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department (LESDE), Government of Mizoram on the 5th and 6th of March, 2024. There were a total of sixteen trades to compete in. The students of WPA competed in four trades, i.e. two in Visual Merchandising, twelve in Fashion Technology, two in Beauty Therapy and four in Hair Dressing. One winner for each trade was announced in the Closing Function on the afternoon of 6th March, 2024. WPA students were winners of the four trades that they participated in. They are 

Lalthachhungi (GT 6th Sem) in Visual Merchandising, 

Emily VL Thakimi(GT 6th Sem), 

Vanlalhriatchhungi(BCC 6th Sem) and 

Laltlanzovi(BCC 4th Sem). 

These winners will participate in the next round which will be at the National Level to be held in the month of April, 2024. A judge for each trade was assigned for the competition. Two lecturers from WPA were appointed as judges, Ms.Laltlansangi Pachuau for Hair Dressing and Ms.Susan R.Ralte for Visual Merchandising & Costume Designing.
